 Director
and video editor Dax Thomas (Laguna/Acoma)
is a graduate of Native Voices, the academic program
of the University of Washington’s Center for Indigenous Media.
He has an ongoing collaboration with renowned sculptor Nora Naranjo-Morse.
In 2008 the two artists received a Master Artist grant from the
Longhouse Education and Cultural Center at the Evergreen State
College, funded by the Ford Foundation’s IllumiNation program.
Thomas presented a view of Naranjo-Morse’s sculpture project
at the National Museum of the American Indian in 2007’s Always
Becoming. In 2004 he participated in the Institute of American
Indian Arts Summer Film and Television Workshop in Santa Fe. Thomas
lives in Casa Blanca, New Mexico.
