Alex MuñozAlex Muñoz (Chamorro) is a 2006 participant in the Directors Initiative of the CBS Diversity Institute. Muñoz is the founder of FYI: Films by Youth Inside, a non-profit organization that teaches video production to incarcerated youth. His dramatic feature Dilemma stars FYI alumni, and Muñoz has taught FYI workshops in Guam, where his family emigrated from, and in southern California. Muñoz is the director of Living the Life, which won the Best Domestic Feature Film Award at the 2004 New York Latino Film Festival. Muñoz directed the Latino segment of Riot, a Showtime feature about the 1992 riots in Los Angeles. He has directed numerous commercials. His autobiographical screenplay Bicycles and Bridges, was selected for the 1997 Sundance Screenwriters Lab and his short Por Vida/For Life premiered at the 1996 Sundance Film Festival. Muñoz is on the advisory board of Film Independent's Project Involve in Los Angeles. He grew up in San Jose, California and received an MFA from the University of Southern California's School of Cinema and Television.
