with discrimination toward Native Americans in Canada, Cowboys
and Indians: The J.J. Harper Story (2003) and Where the
Spirit Lives (1989), which won the 1990 Gemini Award for Best

(1982 - 1987), produced for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation,
which dramatized the lives and adventures of Native children on
a northern reserve. Jordan has produced two feature films featuring

about Canadian fighter planes, starring Dan Ackroyd, that won
six awards at the 1997 Gemini awards. Jordan's career began at
IBM, creating in-house videos and promotional films. In the early
1980s he joined his lifelong friend, Paul Stephens, to form a
production company, The Film Works, in Toronto, Ontario. Jordan
received a BA in philosophy at the University of Toronto.
"When I'm evaluating new projects I look for great characters
in a powerful story, particularly one that I feel is worth telling
for social or political reasons. If we can make a good film and
stir up some interest or controversy around an important subject,
that's ideal."
