Burris (Chickasaw) produced the award-winning short
Goodnight Irene, directed by Sterlin Harjo. Burris is producing
an upcoming feature-length film, Four Sheets to the Wind
and Before the Beast Returns, both directed by Harjo. The
latter film has been selected for Tribeca All Access Connects
2006, a program of the Tribeca Film Institute designed to give
new projects industry exposure. In 2003, Burris participated in
the Producers Lab at the Sundance Institute. Burris is the president
of the Oklahoma Territory Film Council and serves as the director
of Yuwita, a non-profit organization supporting Native American
media initiatives. He is a managing partner at Burris-Hulett Literary
Management, which represents screenwriters. Burris lives in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, where he graduated from the University of Tulsa Law
School, concentrating in Indian Law.
