Annabel WongJeff Barnaby (Mi'kmaq) directs narrative fictions and music videos. His short horror film From Cherry English was commissioned by CBC Television and premiered in the United States at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. From Cherry English won the Golden Sheaf Awards for Best Aboriginal and Best Videography at the 2004 Yorkton Short Film & Video Festival, along with the Outstanding Short Award at the 2005 IMAGeNation Film Festival. His short horror film, The Colony, shot on 35mm, will premiere at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. Barnaby was a post-production supervisor for the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) series Finding Our Talk. He is a script reader for Telefilm Aboriginal Envelope, and has also read scripts for APTN. He has volunteered at numerous indigenous organizations, including the Kanawake Youth Centre and the Montreal Native Women's Shelter. Barnaby received a BFA in film production from Concordia University. Barnaby has worked as a teacher's assistant in film theory and production courses at McGill University, Concordia University, and Dawson College. He grew up in Listuguj First Nation and lives in Montreal, Quebec.
