Hula, the "heart of the Hawaiian people," is celebrated
in this view of California's vibrant Hawaiian community and three
of its kumu hula, hula masters. Embodying culture and history,
the dances taught at the hula halau keep the Native Hawaiian
spirit alive and growing on the mainland.
