Audience at "Club Red Radio"

Benoît Pilonis a French-language Canadian director and screenwriter. His most recent film, The Necessities of Life/Ce qu’il faut pour vivre—which tells the story of an Inuit hunter, played by Natar Ungalaaq, forced to enter a sanatorium in Quebec City—received the Grand Prix Spécial du Jury of the Montreal World Film Festival and was Canada's submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 81st Academy Awards.  Pilon’s other films include Northern Greetings/Des nouvelles du Nord and Roger Toupin, épicier variété, which won the 2003 Prix Jutra/Jutra Award for Best Documentary.  Pilon is the co-founder of the independent film production company Les Films de l’Autre Productions.
