Rachel Nez

Rachel NezDocumentary filmmaker Rachael Nez (Navajo) directed The Border Crossed Us as her master's thesis film for Native Voices: the Center for Indigenous Media at University of Washington in Seattle. The film screened at the 2005 Women of Color Film & Video Festival at the University of California—Santa Cruz, and other festivals. Since 2004, Nez has taught video workshops at the youth media organization Native Lens in Seattle, and instructed a seminar in 2004 on technology and language preservation at the Indigenous Language Institute in Seattle. She was raised in Ganado, Arizona, and received a BA in Media Arts from the University of Arizona.
