Jacob Floyd (Creek/Cherokee) was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. In 2010, Floyd earned a MA in Cinema Studies and a Certificate in Culture and Media Studies from New York University. In his thesis film Tonto Plays Himself Floyd sets out to research Native representation during Hollywood’s Golden Age and ends up with a surprising personal discovery that connects him to the past. Floyd, who earned his BA in Media Arts Studies at Brigham Young University, has worked in various production roles in film and television. He currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri.
