Marcel Fayant

July 2007

Marcel FayantMarcel Fayant (Métis) directed eleven short films, one feature film, and a documentary entitled You Gotta Roller Derby, Girl. He studied film production at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Alberta. Fayant, who grew up in Wainwright, Alberta, lives in Edmonton and works at the Alberta Bingo Supplies Casino in Edmonton.

"I wanted to pursue an artist's aspect many years ago but didn't. Being a poet or a short story writer and somehow making a career out of it would have been nice. With technology changes, I was able to start producing short films, and yearned to make a feature movie, which I did. I'd like to make feature films as a full time career. I find it hard to get the film bug out of me."
