The journey of Prince Maximilian, German naturalist, and artist
Karl Bodmer, who explored the Mississippi and Missouri rivers
from 1832-34. The documentary illuminates the significance to
them of these early contacts with Native Americans, and includes
reflections by Native scholars today.
