Director/Producer: Ian Skorodin (Choctaw)
A fictionalized drama set in the 1970s and based on actual events,
Tushka tells the story of the FBI's ruthless tactics against
activists in the American Indian movement. Credited with writing,
producing, and directing the first Native American action movie,
Skorodin is driven in his filmmaking "by a desire to portray real
people and [their] struggles."
Tushka was presented in NMAI's Thursday Night at the Movies
series in 1998 and was screened at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.
