"Voices of the Sierra Tarahumara"

Voices of the Sierra Tarahumara
(2002, 52 min.) US/MEXICO
Director: Felix Gehm and Robert Brewster

A World Bank forestry project carves logging roads into Tarahumara (or Raramuri) lands in mountainous Chihuahua, home of the Sierra Madre's last remaining old growth forest, leaving a legacy of violence and fear. This is the story of the Raramuris' decade-long fight against powerful drug lords who burn their forests and steal their land.
